In the midst of the gentrification and XO condo development at Parkdale, we developed our architectural proposal that is a commentary on heterotopian vision in the near future, exploring a narrative of corporate consumption and commercialised living. These ideas are manifested in the form of micro-society consumed by the XO Corporation, situated in a high density, isolated, and large-scale complex which resulted in the loss of the neighbourhood's original identity.
The neighborhood is slowly being covered by the roof, represented in the model as a concrete form that drowns out the existing context. This is a criticism that visually communicate through an overwhelming expansion that propels the message of immediate action. It is a speculative future in exchange for shelter and protection in a form of insensible architecture, using intense and devastating force in the service of good intentions.
The sectional perspective display the interior function within the site. The east side of the site are mass dense modular housing, and on the west side situates the low-rise domestic residences. The center of it all are the commercial and retail, all connected under a single roof
